Our traditional Zrub (Slovak log house) was built in 1912 but has recently been renovated to include modern amenities, yet remain a National Treasure of Slovakia (equivalent to a UK 'listed building'). Spacious, it sleeps 6 (+2) in lovely natural surroundings facing the Belianske Tatry mountains (which rise to 2,150 m). A romantic all-season hideaway cottage.

Zrub Zuzana lies at 930 m above sea level and is situated in the Conservation Area for Folk Architecture of Antošovský Vrch, above the village of Ždiar, Slovakia. The quiet location on open hillside allows walking direct from the front door. On the edge of Slovakia's High Tatras National Park, there is a wonderful ‘away from it all’ feeling. It is a great place for wildlife, with deer even being seen occasionally at the house. 35 km / 30 min. from Poprad and its airport. You can view the setting here: Google Map

Lounge

The character of the traditional architecture and its tranquil location gives Zrub Zuzana an ‘olde worlde charm’, brought bang up-to-date with modern facilities for the discerning traveller, with satellite TV and free wifi. The fresh mountain air with alpine sun can produce a romantic hideaway or outdoor pursuits centre, as a couple or family group, at your pleasure. Ski, cycle, walk, fish, golf, relax in a mineral water spa or just sit and watch the endless variety of the view. Still a working village, you can glimpse traditional rural life, with horses being used to till the land, collect the potatoes and even take you on a sleigh-ride in the snow! It will be as relaxing a holiday as you want to make it, at any time of year.
